چکیده

The presence and distribution of endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) in the mariculture fish from Pulau Kukup, Johor Malaysia have been studied along with impact on human health. Six different species were collected, due to their high consumption Asian region—especially Malaysia, assess levels EDCs. highest concentration EDCs detected muscle was dexamethasone (2.37–15.84 ng/g) (0.77–13.41 ng/g), liver (<2.54–43.56 progesterone (2.23–9.78 reproductive organ are (<2.54–37.23 caffeine (0.21–18.92 ng/g). health risk assessment current study suggested that there is no potential consumer because hazard index below 1 (HI < 1). present provides information pollution profile associated fish.

Endocrine-disrupting chemicals and male reproductive health.

Endocrine-disrupting chemicals are substances present in the environment that can interfere with normal hormonal balance and thus exert potentially adverse health effects on the human organism. Male reproductive system development and function may be susceptible to the effects of such environmental toxicants. Bisphenol A, phthalates and alkylphenols are important components of multiple products...

Occurrence of endocrine-disrupting chemicals in indoor dust.

Human exposure to indoor dust enriched with endocrine-disrupting chemicals released from numerous indoor sources has been a focus of increasing concern. Longer residence times and elevated contaminant concentrations in the indoor environment may increase chances of exposure to these contaminants by 1000-fold compared to outdoor exposure. To investigate the occurrence of semi-volatile endocrine-...

Cryptorchidism and endocrine disrupting chemicals

Prospective clinical studies have suggested that the rate of congenital cryptorchidism has increased since the 1950s. It has been hypothesized that this may be related to environmental factors. Testicular descent occurs in two phases controlled by Leydig cell-derived hormones insulin-like peptide 3 (INSL3) and testosterone. Disorders in fetal androgen production/action or suppression of Insl3 a...
